Thousand insects fell into our boat！

いつもの英会話の先生が、1カ月のイギリス帰郷から帰ってきました。お母さまがカントリーサイドに住んでいて、家族でそこへ会いに行かれたそうです。

海、森、広い空、SL、アスレチック、プレイランド、お母さまのガーデン、そして家。「まるで夢のような時間だった」。写真を見せながら、先生はそう話してくれました。空が本当に広くて、モネが描いた空みたいな一枚もありました。

けれど、夢のような話には、悪夢のようなアクシデントもついてくるものです。想像するだけで恐ろしいです。(笑)

English Teacher: We rented a motorboat. I was driving.

Me: You drove it?

English Teacher: And I crashed about five times.

Me: Where? How ? What happened?

English Teacher: It was the worst moment. Just after this video, everyone looked so happy. Then we turned a corner and hit a tree branch. About a thousand insects fell into the boat.

Me: Oh my god.

English Teacher: I’m not kidding. It was like a thousand insects fell into our boat—spiders, beetles, and flies.

Me: You caught every creature in the forest.

English Teacher: Because we hit the branch, they all fell in.

Me: Do you have a photo?

English Teacher: No, because my children were just screaming, screaming, screaming. That part was a bit like a nightmare.

Me: How did you get them out?

English Teacher: Some of them just flew away, and then we had to try to throw the spiders out.

Me: It was your fault.

English Teacher: It was my fault, and my children were very angry.

こういうアクシデントが、いつまでも語り継がれるんですよね。(笑)
